Whisper of New Beginnings
I use oils, pastels, gold pigment just to name a few of my mediums to work through the chaos of life and organically arrive to a grace filled moment inspired by nature. This practice allows me a safe space to work through the mundane and discover the magic that art and life can lends us. The exposed or hidden writing within the paint is in my native language, Urdu. It cradles my thoughts and the will to always find silver linings through the high and lows of a life that is full of many seasons.
Original work
Oil, acrylic & mixed media on canvas
36” x 36"
Framed
Urdu inscription repeated four times, cradling the edge of the artwork is inspired by Surah Ar Rehman, the 55th chapter in the Quran. Ar Rehman means The Most Beneficent. The words revolve around mercy, and gratitude. “Which one of your blessings will you deny?” a question posed to mankind is repeated frequently in this chapter as well as within the art. When we function out of humility, we gain clarity of the smaller, yet more meaningful things in life. We find abundance through the power of gratitude. In turn we find empowerment and the ability to be pillars for those in need. Do not let yourself be distracted by the haste of life, pause to acknowledge the gift of your of humility and innate humanity. Be beneficent.
